My Animator's Friend service genuinely tries to be a true friend to all animators and students out there - whether your interest be in traditional hand-drawn animation, CG/3D or any other form of animation. I also try to make my fees fair and affordable for all concerned. Consequently my rates are ramped in accordance with ability to pay or not.
STUDIOS

Studios faced with achieving more consistency from a wide range of animators with different abilities could benefit from my tried and tested animation mentoring. Simply from viewing production videos, I will rapidly analyze and advise on how to get often inconsistent animation more consistent and enable team animators to quickly work at a higher level.

Ideal for current professionals from any animation discipline who are personally trying to solve animation problems that they can't seem to get right. Or... you might just want to raise the level of your showreel work to a higher grade. With over 4 decades of top level directing and animating experience there's little that I haven't seen before, or know how to fix.

Ideal for those students who feel they are not learning enough from the course they are on to get their animation to a professional level. It could be too that your instructors are unable to advise you on how to fix a particular action problem you're struggling with? Don't despair!  I offer BIG discounts for full-time students (with ID) who need that extra help.

My flipbook-based party workshops are especially popular, although I'm keen to do anything that will raise the standards of animation far and wide. ​ANIMATOR'S SKETCHCLUB 'PRO' MEMBERS
I am very proud of the 7.8K+ following I have in my ANIMATOR'S SKETCHCLUB. For members I put out a FREE animation-related drawing challenge on the 1st of each month and contributors from all over the world submit their drawings for judging during that month. The 'best of the best' of these are announced by the end of each month and the winners displayed on our 'Gallery' page. However, an increasing number of members have asked me to provide my more professional level feedback for their animation work also. This has not been possible until now, due to my extensive commitments. However, I'm now delighted to announce a 'PRO Animation Challenge' for Sketchclub members. With this I will set a separate, animation-based challenge at the beginning of each month, that will explore on of the core principles of animated movement. Then, for a small fee, the more animation-focused members can submit their own version of the challenge for review. For the fee I will provide each animator with a short written review of their submitted assignment work, plus 1 or 2 draw-over images to illustrate my suggestions. Commended submissions from the 'PRO Animation Challenge' submissions specifically will be posted on a 'Best Movers of the Month' screening page to be set-up on the ANIMATOR'S SKETCHCLUB website. Submissions can be made using any animation technique the member chooses.
Single submission fee: $10*.   Enrollment for 12 months (i.e. 12 submissions): $100.

Note: Whatever service you choose to take advantage of I will in all good faith view, review and/or advise you on the work submitted in as short a time I can, keeping your costs down to an absolute minimum. However, to make this viable I will have to impose a 30-minutes minimum charge for all hourly services, with 30-minute increment charges after that. Anything going significantly beyond a 30-minute time period will be marked up to the next 30-minutes time slot. (Registered full-time students will just pay a maximum $15 per animation test review, however long it takes me to create your report beyond the first 30-minute initial minimum!) Finally, should I review work and find I cannot offer any suggestions for improvement, there will NO CHARGE whatsoever. In this way, I'm attempting to make this service as fair and honest as I can. Ultimately, a good service is one that is based entirely on trust by all concerned.
